The neighbor watched for a few minutes as the son struggled to get the fence straight, then took the farmer aside and asked \u201cWhy are you letting your son help you? It\u2019s going to take five times as long. You should just do it yourself.\u201d The farmer replied \u201cOh, I\u2019m afraid you\u2019ve made a mistake. You think I\u2019m repairing a fence. I\u2019m not. I\u2019m raising my son.\u201d Often with some careful thought, we can find a win-win solution where our needs get met AND our child\u2019s are too. But it\u2019s all too easy to only focus on what is easiest or quickest from our own perspective. So choose wisely.
