What will your kids learn? Science Camp is taught by a real mechanical engineer, airplane pilot, astronomer, university engineering instructor, and rocket scientist (Aurora herself)! For kids ages 7-12. Come join us for a summer jam-packed with learning and fun! Our science camps are NOT just for homeschoolers - they are for everyone interested in doing real hands-on science! Kids really do keep everything they build and invent during our workshop. Here's a sneak peek at some of the projects we cover:

Aeronautics & Rocketry
	We'll cover air pressure, the four aerodynamic forces, and flight dynamics concepts by: Constructing stunt planes, hang gliders, bat kites, rotor kites Build pneumatic rockets and chemical pop rockets Play with the nitrogen atom itself as you uncover the physics of flight using Bernoulli's Principles for wing design! One lucky camper will get their very first flight lesson in a real airplane!
Electricity & Magnetism
	We'll cover electricity, conductivity, static charges, magnetism, and Maxwell's Electromagnetism Principles by: Wire up circuits, relays, motors, lights, switches, and much more Build homemade burglar alarms such as trip wires, stomp sensors, tilt sensors, and the electric eye
Physics of Light, Sound, and Motion
	We'll cover Newton's Physical Laws of Motion, sonic vibrations, resonance, acceleration, g-force, and one of the biggest leaps in all scientific history: how electricity and magnetism are linked to form light waves... all by: Shattering laser beams Blasting pneumatic cannons Splitting light waves into rainbow shadows Constructing catapults Discovering the perfect pitch to annoy your parents while you investigate sonic vibrations and resonance (we'll build four different inventions) Zoom around your own roller coaster track you get to take home
Astronomy & Astrophysics
	Take an intergalactic tour of the universe without leaving your seat! Discover massive black holes, spinning neutron stars, quasars, blazars, magnetars, supernovae, and more Investigate why the sun regularly burps and spits fireballs into space and view solar flares through a very special h-alpha telescope Learn how stars form, why they explode, and just how far away our nearest neighbor is in our galaxy Sneak a peek through real telescopes operated by real astronomers This class is presented in a non-evolution, non-creation viewpoint so everyone can participate
Chemistry Lab
	We'll cover chemical kinetics, phase shifts, the five states of matter, atoms, molecules, elements, different types of chemical reactions, and Le Châtelier's Equilibrium Principle. Cross-link polymers to bubble up slimy substances Create a substance that crawls up stairs Experiment with phase shifts Walk on water Shake up solutions that change into a rainbow of colors Turn your dad's coffee back into clear water Grow colorful crystals Chemically collapse foam Start fire with a single drop of water Stew up a chemical matrix of heat and ice reactions
Engineering & Technology: Robotics
	We'll cover how to build a frame (chassis), add motors, sensors, wired remote controls, troubleshooting, and how to ask questions to find your own answers...just like a real scientist! Construct a mechanized animal robot Learn to wire up motor circuits and remote controls Build several zooming, hopping, swimming, wheeling, dancing robots! We spend all day in our robot lab building anything you can think up

What ages is e-Camp for?

The Supercharged Science Camp is open to kids ages 7-14 years. We want to be sure that our science classes will challenge your child in a meaningful and empowering way.

How much does the camp cost?

While I personally teach the camp myself, your kids will also be well supported by my team of assistant teachers through every step of every activity. My staff includes science teachers, university engineering students and other science professionals.

Science Camp costs $495, which includes all material costs for the 47 science projects, activities, and experiments your child gets to build and take home (materials alone are worth over $100).

Is Supercharged Science Camp only for homeschool kids?

NO!! Our camps are open to EVERYONE. Supercharged Science reaches many families, including public school, private school, and homeschool kids. I encourage everyone who is interested to join us. I guarantee you'll have more fun than you think!

What will Supercharged Science Camp do for my kids?

•  Provide a totally fun summer of science education for your kids. To them it feels like just plain summer fun. But as a parent, you know they're learning as much science as they would in three months of science classes. The great part is, it doesn't seem like school at all to them!

•  Allow your kids to participate in a self-guided format that totally encourages imagination and creativity. Your kids will be interacting with college engineering students and science teachers in an easy-going learning environment. They can do the whole camp on their own without your help, even if you don't know a thing about science yourself, or haven't had the time to do science with them before. No previous experience required.

•  Give your kids an incredibly fun AND educational science camp experience. Last time we did a camp, over 800 kids joined us for a totally fun experience they won't forget. Parents were impressed by how much kids learned, and how it really helped them to be ready for school in September.

How do I register?

There's limited space in Summer Science Camp (because I give individual support kids and don't want to be overwhelmed). Last year, there were 120 spots available and we sold out really fast when we let 38,869 families about it. I haven't announced this yet, so keep it under your hat.

Supercharged Science Summer Camp is: June 25-29, 2012 from 9am - 2pm, with a bonus Astronomy Night on Wednesday evening.
