About Aurora

Hi! I'm Aurora, and I am a mechanical engineer, university instructor, private pilot, astronomer, and work on real rockets. I spend my time getting kids crazy-wild about science by taking them from bored to brainiac in less time than it takes to burn toast.
Where in the world…?

Kids standing are on our roof, flinging things from our deck, and have new ideas on what dad’s air compressor should be used for. Aeronautics is a new scientific discovery in our home. The smallest members of the family are able to participate in the projects included in our kit and the oldest children are able to research why a project works better in different conditions. They discover how variations in wind, wings, and weather effect the distance and speed of their creations. Using the DVDs, audio clips, and instructions, Aurora’s love of flight is contagious as our children follow her lead.

I just got started with the Kites chapter in the Science Mastery Kit and I am having so much fun! I have built the diamond kite and a box kite (not in the manual). I also made the puff rocket. It is so much fun!
